Your privacy is extremely important to us.
In general, you can visit the Site without telling us who you are or revealing any personally identifiable information about yourself. If you choose to register, and are 13 years of age or older, we will collect your name, date of birth, email address, and country of residence along with your academic status and the information you decide to share in your profile ("Personal Information"). By providing your Personal Information to us, you explicitly agree to our collection and use of such information as described in this Policy.
3. Information collected by Aprentica
We collect information about you in a variety of ways. When you register for Aprentica, we collect the Personal Information that is necessary for you to use the Service. This information also includes your full name, password, email address and may include photographs you uploaded. As you complete your profile, you have an opportunity to disclose more personal information by completing the optional fields. You can decide how much you want to reveal about yourself. At any time, you can edit your Personal Information by clicking on the “settings” button on your profile. To cancel your account please send us an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will eliminate you from the Site; however, it may take some time to take effect.
If you post information about yourself or others, or communicate with others using our website, please note that we cannot control who reads your postings or what they do with the information you provide. We encourage you to use caution in posting personal information. We cannot control your level of disclosure and will not be liable in any way for another’s use or misuse of the information you disclose.
We also collect information about your computer, like your IP address, your browser type and language, what courses, lectures and conferences you access to, and the date and time of your visit, which helps us track users’ movements around our Site and categorize the courses, lectures and conferences. We may also record your IP address when submitting information in order to combat online crime or fraud.
Finally, we may use standard Internet tools, such web beacons, which collect information that tracks your use of our website and enables us to customize our services and advertisements.
4. How Aprentica uses the collected information
Details about you
We use your information to provide you the best service that we can. Only your basic information which includes your username, photo, and/or other profile information as allowed by you in your settings, is displayed to all Members. When you invite friends to join the service, your email and full name will be displayed in the invitation email. Aprentica may also send you updates via email, which can include, but are not limited to, information about your account, information about your courses, lectures, and conferences. If you do not want to receive these updates, then simply hit the unsubscribe button at the bottom of the email or at your Settings page.
Aprentica may disclose Personal Information if required by a subpoena or other judicial or administrative order, where required by law, or, at our sole discretion, where we deem necessary to protect the safety of any individual or the general public or to prevent violation of our Terms of Service or the rights of Aprentica or any third party.
We may also use information to:
- Fulfill your requests for products and services;
- Offer products and services that may be of interest to you;
- Process payment for products or services you order via our website;
- Customize the advertising and content that you see on our website;
- Facilitate use of our website;
- Manage your account and your preferences;
- Analyze use of and improve our website, products and services; and
- Identify and protect against fraudulent transactions and other misuses of our website.
Retention of Information
We shall keep Personal Information of our users for as long as they are registered subscribers or users of our products and services, and as permitted by law.
With whom Aprentica may share collected information
We will not share your Personal Information with others except as indicated below, or except when we inform you in advance and give you the opportunity to opt out. We may share personal information with:
- Service providers, such as credit-card payment processors, performing services on our behalf;
- Other businesses with which we partner or which we carefully select to offer you products, services, and promotions through our website or offline; and
- Other third parties in limited circumstances, such as reporting suspected criminal activity, complying with legal requirements, preventing fraud, and protecting the safety of our users.
We may share aggregated, non-personal information in any of the above situations and also with advertisers and others.
The Site uses software tags called "cookies" to identify users when they visit our Site. Cookies are used to remember user preferences and maximize performance of our services. The information we collect with cookies is not sold, rented, or shared with any outside parties. Users who disable their Web browser's ability to accept cookies will only be able to browse our Site but will not be able to log into the Site and successfully use our Service. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. A session ID cookie expires when you close you browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. We maintain log files of the traffic that visits our Site. We do not link any information gathered in these log files to Personal Information. Log files are used to manage traffic loads and information technology requirements for providing reliable service. Information collected includes IP addresses and browser types.
Information for Invitees. Sharing Content:
When you invite your colleagues, teachers, students, friends, family, universities, colleges, and/or other entities to Aprentica, we will ask that you provide their email addresses, so that we can automatically send them an invitation to join.
You or any user logged into Aprentica may use the functionality to Share or Embed Content, a Profile or any Page in Aprentica to a Third Party Site (such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogs, etc). When sharing Content, a Profile or any Page in Aprentica in other sites (the “Shared Content”), that Shared Content will remain linked to Aprentica and to the author/owner’s of such Shared Content, as applicable. Aprentica is not responsible on how third parties use the Shared Content outside Aprentica´s Site. Moreover, when you use the Share or Embed functionality, Aprentica may receive information from the Third Party Site with regards to the Shared Content.

Changing, Updating and Removing User Information
You can change, update, and/or remove your information at any point. Your Personal Information may be retained in our backup files and archives.
5. Children's Privacy
This Site is intended for users above the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. We are committed to protecting children's privacy online and meeting the requirements of the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
When applicable, if you use or provide services on the Site for which we implement a billing system for you, we will collect additional information from you so that we can process and collect billing information. For example, we may collect your mailing address to remit payments, your credit card number, and/or your Social Security number if necessary.

We collect meta-data about the overall site, like the frequency of page views and other aggregate information we extract from the Site.

Aprentica may utilize third party advertisers, and some posts may include links to third party sites, but Aprentica is not responsible for the privacy policies of these third party advertisers or third party links. You are encouraged to familiarize yourself with the privacy standards of each website that you visit.
We protect the Personal Information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. Aprentica uses best practices and industry standard security measures to protect information under our control. You should be, nevertheless, aware that there is not any 100% secure method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. We shall use all commercially reasonable means to protect your Personal Information, however. Also, if we learn of a security systems breach we may attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. By using this Site or providing personal information to us you agree that we can communicate with you electronically regarding security, privacy, and administrative issues relating to your use of this Site.
10. No Spam Policy
Users must not engage in any activity that involves sending email in violation of applicable law. Aprentica has a No Spam Policy (please refer to Community Guidelines) and any violation of these policies will result in immediate termination and may result in legal action.

This Site is hosted and operated in the United States. If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that you are transferring your personal data to the United States, which may not have the same data protection laws as you country of domicile and by providing your personal data you consent to:
